At BSA Hospice of the Southwest, ensuring patients are cared for in a safe and healthy environment for end-of-life care is of the upmost importance to us. It is our goal to provide the best care possible during this difficult time of COVID-19 with Love, Comfort, and Respect.
BSA Hospice of the Southwest is doing a number of things to help keep you safe. These include:

Adherence to CDC recommendations, the Texas Governors orders, and HHSC and the City of Amarillo regulations regarding COVID-19

Following facility rules regarding hospice visits

Ensuring the health of our employees by monitoring them daily
-
Calling home patients before visits to ask about contact or diagnosed COVID-19
-
Maintaining a supply of PPE (personal protective equipment) as recommended/available

Continued training on COVID-19 and infection control, including hand-washing

Providing education to patients and their families in hospice care
There are things that you can do to keep everyone safe as well, including:

Contact BSA Hospice of the Southwest with any concerns/questions including:

travel outside the country and/or outside of the local area
-
contact with someone suspected of or diagnosed with COVID-19

having a cough, fever, or respiratory difficulties

Avoid travel of any kind

Wash your hands often
-
Cough into your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue away immediately

Avoid contact with high-touch surfaces in public places
-
Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes

Clean and disinfect your home

Avoid crowds
