Hospice

One of the most important things that people need to learn is that hospice helps patients and families focus on living. This surprises some people! Many Americans mistakenly think that hospice is a place you go when there’s nothing left to be done to treat an illness. That couldn’t be further from the truth. For well over 30 years, hospice care has improved the quality of life for people facing an illness that cannot be cured—and their family caregivers.

Hospice is About LIVING!

"When there comes a time when you can't get better, that doesn't mean we can't help you feel better."

What is Hospice?

Hospice is a specialized approach to care that focuses on providing comfort, support, and dignity to individuals facing advanced, life-limiting illnesses. At BSA Hospice of the Southwest, we emphasize pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, and enhance the overall quality of life for both the patient and their family. When curative treatments are no longer effective or desired, and the focus shifts to ensuring the patient's comfort and well-being, a team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors, and volunteers, work collaboratively to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients during this sensitive time.
